- Shedding of loose fibers is normal with new rugs
- With regular vacuuming shedding will diminish, typically within three to six months
- Recycled cotton backing
Care / Maintenance
Shedding of loose fibers may occur but will minimize over time. Vacuum regularly on a low power setting. Use a vacuum cleaner without a beater brush as it may cause damage. Remove spills immediately. If liquid, blot with a clean, un-dyed cloth by pressing firmly around the spill to absorb as much as possible. For hard-to-remove stains, professional rug cleaning is recommended. Do not pull loose ends. Instead, clip them with scissors to remove. Avoid direct and continuous exposure to sunlight. Rotate or reposition your rug every few months to promote even surface wear. Use rug protectors under the legs of heavy furniture to avoid flattening. Store your rug by rolling it front side out and wrapping in cloth for protection. Do not fold or store rug in an airtight plastic bag. Place it in a dry and well-ventilated space.

I was doubtful but this is a really incredible value rug. I don’t think you can find a 100% 0.5” pile rug at this price anywhere else, and I’ve looked extensively. The gray markings are less blue-gray than the company’s picture suggests, a bit warmer, and I think subtler — this is a mostly cream rug. Laid flat immediately. Comes really well packaged. Shedding has been surprisingly minimal — if I vacuum it, it will pick up hairs, but I don’t see any hairs on my floors.
